Welcome to Jessal's Guide Service! Here to meet all of your fishing needs on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. Everything from salmon and trout on the Kenai, to a day in the drift boat, fishing King salmon on the Kasilof river. Or there is always the option of hitting the salt water for those barndoor size Halibut and saltwater kings that are still fightin' mad. Whatever your interested in getting out and doing, we can make it happen. We are a family run operation that prides ourselves on making sure all our client
s needs are met and that they feel right at home.
| Our 2009 season is just around the corner. We will be firing up in May, starting with fishing from a drift boat on the Kasilof and just behind that on the Kenai for the Kings. We topped out last Kings season with this 71 lb Toad of Tommy's. That's gonna be a pretty big order to fill so I hope you guys are ready! Tips up and lines tight, We're going for a record! The world record King Salmon was caught the third week of May, so keep that in mind. Historically, May is a tougher month for Kings. It's just the beginning of the run and the numbers are not at peak. But with that said, the tourists have not flooded in yet either, so that is a factor. The other factor to consider is that the guide books are not quite full and you can get a much better deal on both lodging and fishing. If you want a good ol' laid back Alaskan Experience, make sure not to count out the " non-peak" times of the season where you will get a better price and be able to see Alaska the way the "locals" do. If you head over to our rates page, I will be posting some May specials. |
Well, as of May 13th the river is coming up and we are starting to get our first Kings in the river. The weather is unusually nice and have already had almost as many sunny days as we did all of last year. The books are starting to fill in, so if you are thinking of booking this season give us a call. We can check on available dates and accommodate your needs. We are still running our special from May through the 15th of June. Last year the second week of June ended up being some our hottest King fishing and we still have a few open days so that's not a bad time to think about. Feel free to contact us with any questions or help with what time of the season would work best for what will best fit your needs.
June 8th: King season is here. We had a slow start but it's building steam every day. The fishing last week was a little spotty but we did catch fish. The weather has been incredible. I don't ever remember it being this nice in early June. I hope everyone is having a great summer of fishing so far.
June 26th: First run of Kings has been tough. A fish here and there. We have about another week left in the first run and are running a special through the end of the month (see rates page for more details)
